Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information OtterBlock Pty Ltd collects through this website, why we collect it, who processes it for us and how you can ask for it.
What we collect
We collect personal information when you send a form or write to us about work.
- Your name, your email address, your message and, if you give it, your organisation.
- The service you ask about, your organisation type and your timeframe, with your name and email address. Your organisation, phone number and message are optional.
- When you send a form, you confirm that you have read this policy. Your enquiry records the time and the version of this policy.
- Your browser keeps your choices in a cookie on your device. This site does not send them to us.
- If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records the pages you visit, the enquiry steps you complete, the buttons you use and how you reached this site.
- You apply by email. We receive your email address, your CV and anything else you choose to send.
- If you become a client, we keep the records of the engagement. These include the scope, the proposal, decisions, acceptance and handover documents.
How we use it
We use personal information to reply to your enquiry, to scope and deliver work you ask for, to read job applications, to keep this site secure and to measure how this site is used.
We do not sell personal information.
Who processes it for us
This site has no database. It does not store your enquiry. It sends each enquiry to Zapier, and Zapier sends it to our mailbox.
These providers process personal information on our behalf to run this site.
- Hosting. Vercel BotID also checks each form submission to tell people from automated traffic.
- Notification. Zapier receives each enquiry and sends it to us by email. Zapier processes it in the United States.
- Email. It delivers each enquiry to the OtterBlock mailbox and holds the emails you send us, including job applications.
- Measurement. It loads only after you accept analytics cookies.
- Rate limiting, when we turn it on. It holds a scrambled form of your IP address for up to one minute, to stop repeated requests.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses necessary cookies to run. You cannot turn these off.
Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics cookies. It records a session identifier, the pages you visit and how you use the forms.
An advertising measurement tag loads only after you accept marketing cookies.
You can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
How long we keep it
This site keeps no copy of your enquiry.
We keep the enquiry email in our Google Workspace mailbox for the period in our mailbox retention policy. When that period ends, we delete it.
Zapier keeps a copy of each enquiry in its task history for the period its service sets.
Access and correction
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it. Email zach@otterblock.com.au and we reply in writing.
Changes to this policy
We publish each change on this page and change the date at the top.
